It always surprises me how beautiful Central Park is! I suppose since it’s in the middle of a bustling city, my expectations for beauty are low. But if you really walk through, there are so many pretty spots and gorgeous backgrounds. These images are from my walk through the park last week. Lots of trees and early spring plants were just starting to bloom. I’m looking forward to going back!

For the first time I walked across the Brooklyn Bridge, which I loved doing! The walkway goes across the center of the bridge and the views are amazing, from the river to the skyscrapers to the other bridges nearby. Not to mention the famously beautiful architecture of the bridge, which lends itself to a million different types of images!

While we were in Montreux, Switzerland, we toured a castle that was just around the lake from where we were staying. It was a lovely walk or bike ride along the water to get there. Chillon Castle is located right on the lake, literally. As a matter of fact, one of the original ‘latrines’ inside the castle was positioned directly over the water! It was chilly when we were there and I couldn’t help imagining how cold it was for the royals who lived there all year long. And for the prisoners kept in the basement chained to one spot. It is beautifully preserved because, while they had a variety of preparations for inavasion, it was never attacked!

We took a scenic train ride along lake Geneva to our second stop in Switzerland, Montreux. This adorable town on the lake was a wonderful place to stay, with a gorgeous path along the lake filled with flowers and sculptures. Across the lake are snow-capped mountains, talk about  perfect scenery!! While I thought I had never heard of Montreux, apparently the song Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple is about Montreux and the casino there which, yes, burned down during the Montreux Jazz Festival!

We have just returned from a fabulous trip to Switzerland, where our first stop was in Geneva. What a beautiful, clean city filled with friendly people. We loved touring around, enjoying the old part of the city and the beautiful lake. I would definitely recommend it and would certainly go back!! Enjoy a few shots of the  beautiful city with the famous fountain.

Don’t you just love when the spring blossoms pop out? Things get so much more colorful after the long winter here in the north east. I just love seeing the spring flowers, and try to appreciate them as much as I can since they are so short lived. The cherry blossoms are my favorite of early spring!

Do you ever wonder why you don’t get to something even though you enjoy doing it? It seems for me, even though I love taking pictures and editing them, I don’t always take the time to do it. Sometimes life just gets in the way and other times I just can’t get myself outside! Even with all these spring flowers around, I haven’t been photographing them. Spring is my favorite season, mostly I think because of the new color and warming temperatures after the cold, drab winter. I’ve certainly been delinquent in posting anything, but here are a few of the spring flowers around my house. More to come!!!
