Abstract Blossoms in B&W
I love playing around with macro images of flowers. And I think Cyclamen blossoms lend themselves to this, with their curved lines and interesting shapes. What do you think???

Happy New Year! I took some slow shutter speed shots of the ocean from my recent trip to Florida. I was excited to use my new camera, so I thought I would break it in on location, toes in the sand, photographing the Atlantic Ocean… my favorite place! The first 3 are using a slow shutter speed with my new camera, and the last 2 are using the show shutter app on my iphone. I like the painterly effect it provides! What do you think?
Of course I decided to use some camera movement and see what I could get while I was visiting Monet’s gardens. I generally like this technique (as you know if you’ve seen my posts in the past)! I think it works particularly well with a colorful subject such as this. What do you think?
Yesterday I took a few shots of the beach grass growing at our local beach. I used camera movement to achieve the different effects, which I like because the images feel soft. The plain grass didn’t look that interesting to me, but this technique adds some movement and dimension to these images. What do you think?
I tried playing around with some images I took of a cyclamen plant. It was something different for cold, a dreary winter with not much motivating me to get out and photograph. What do you think?
The nature trail at our resort in Puerto Rico provided some lush scenery for hiking and photographing. I took lots of photos of the foliage, but liked these abstracted leaves the best. Its freezing here, which makes me want to go back to the 85 degree beautiful beach where the sun was shining and when it rained there was a rainbow!!!
A few shots of the beach at a beautiful resort in Puerto Rico where we recently spent a long weekend. I just can’t get enough of the look of this type of shot of the beach. What do you think?? 🙂
A few shots of our frozen beach. Instead of foam and the edge of the water, there is chunky ice. My fingers felt like they were getting frost bite while I was taking these shots! Even the dogs that normally roam the beach in the winter weren’t out because it’s so cold. Brrr!
The beautiful colors and scenes of autumn in the northeast lend themselves to myriad photographic opportunities. I’m sure you’ve seen your share of fall foliage images posted throughout the digital world, and I have posted quite a few images of my own savoring this short but pretty time of year. Here are some abstracts, which you know by now if you read my blog, that I just adore. The feel and the color just appeal to me. I hope you enjoy them as well!
A few more beach abstracts… I guess I just can’t get enough of these. I love taking them and I love looking at them! What do you think??
